It is also a political force lobbying for the needs and rights of students, staff, faculty, community members and other users of DalOUT. Salvation Army
- The Salvation Army in the United States can legally discriminate against queer individuals by not hiring them and by not extending benefits. The Canadian Salvation Army cannot do this as it violates the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Human Rights Act, but donating money to the Salvation Army, whether it be the American or the Canadian branches, encourages them to keep these practices up. The suggestion is to send them an e-mail regarding their practices and tell them that discrimination is never appropriate.
